Trip to the Beach

I went to the small Gulfport Beach on Boca Ciega Bay because I wanted to photograph the very young brown Laughing Gulls.  I saw a brown bird.  When I approached, I discovered its head was burrowed in its body.  This is an updated post because I originally identified the bird as a probable migrant.  Its brown, rather than gray color and the fact that it was hunched down led me to make an incorrect identification.  It is a Willet. Next time I post the photo of a shorebird, “Willet” be accompanied by an accurate ID. (Rhetorical comment)  I hope so.  The other bird is a juvenile Laughing Gull.    -SLB
