Stop Press! I just looked out of the window at the dying rain and there, right at my feet, was the pair of Common Ground Doves. They then flew away, but I liberally scattered some seed on the ground, so I think they’ll be back (if they know what’s good for them). As for the size, I swear they were no bigger than cardinals! Whatever would a juvenile CGD look like! OK, so a flock of White Ibis is working its way up the street, so I’m off….
Welcome to Florida BirdwatchersWelcome! This site has been created for those who enjoy birding in Florida, a state that affords year-round accessibility to all kinds of birds, including some that are rare visitors. It is our hope that we can build a nest here...a place where we can share our comments as well as our photos. Now and then, FLB fly to other areas and we like to share those trips, knowing our members always migrate back to Florida. (The above was written by JoSanz, a co-author and active member of this blog, who passed in Feb. 2013. The blog is dedicated to her memory.)
